Hello and welcome everyone. So amazing to have you here. I hope you are all doing well. I am so excited for today’s show. I have a really exciting announcement for all of you that I will be talking more about at the end of this episode.

It’s going to be epic and an amazing opportunity for those of you listening who are truly ready to take your business to the next level. All right, so let’s talk about this process for a moment. I want to talk to you today about the process of really taking your business from where it is to where you want it to go. Now, depending on where you’re at in your business, for some of you this might look like taking your business from six figures or perhaps even multiple six figures to that seven-figure mark. I also know for others of you listening that this might look like you taking your business from $25,000 per year to that first 100k.

So what I want to talk to you about today is going to be relevant for you no matter where you’re at from a revenue perspective. The truth is that there are certain things that must happen in order to evolve yourself so that you can lead your business into its next level. One of the most important shifts that must happen and that I do work with all of my clients on all the time is the very important shift that happens in their identity.

The shift in their identity from who they are today, from how they see themselves today, from the version of themselves that has created the results that they have today to the identity, to the version of themselves that is able to create and lead their business forward. The version of themselves that creates a multiple six-figure, seven-figure, even an eight-figure business. This, I’m telling you all, is the most important shift.

This is something that I personally have experienced over and over again in my own practice as I have grown and as I’ve scaled my business these past few years. I will tell you all it’s something that I’m also right now in the process of doing myself as I take my business to its next level. So I’ve done this a number of times in my life.

When I think about my journey in that and when I think about all of the ways where I have evolved in my life, one of the ways that is significant to today, significant to the business that I have today was really the transition that I made from my executive role. I was in higher ed, and making the decision to become an entrepreneur, to become a full-time coach.

So while I was very used to growing and scaling organizations, as that was my entire career, what I found was that the shift into becoming a solopreneur, into becoming an entrepreneur was a huge shift. So for those of you who are in that position right now. So maybe you are in your current role, maybe you are looking to either transition out of your corporate or professional career and into your business full time, I want you to know that I understand that transition very well. I understand what a huge transition that can be. I also know that what it requires is a huge shift in your identity.

So because I personally am very familiar with this process because I’ve gone through it, and I’ve also coached now hundreds of coaches on this shift, I understand what that is like. I will also say that the other significant shift that I have made is really taking my business to where I was working with clients on a one-on-one basis to scaling it. To launching microprograms that I have today to working with clients in a group and really doing all of the things that are required to scale the business.

So I also know that that’s where some of you are today. Where you’re working with clients on a one-on-one basis. You maybe have a full practice of clients already, whether it’s one-on-one or maybe you’ve even launched a group program of some kind. I know what it’s like when you really need to look at that next level, and you’re really ready to take things to the next level.

So what I will tell you is that that is also a very important and a required shift in your identity. After working with so many of my clients and helping them through this shift and continuing to make these shifts as we work to grow and scale their business, I will tell you that I have found this to be very, very deep work. It requires a very high level of intention. I talked in last week’s episode about the power of intention and why that’s so important in your business-building journey.

So I’d really encourage you to go back and listen to that episode if you haven’t. Because the truth is that these internal shifts, the intention that is put behind the business strategy, the deep work of uncovering and becoming aware of your current belief systems, of the patterns, of the subconscious patterns that you have, I believe, is some of the most important and most powerful work that you can do.

I’ve also found that in most cases, this requires a complete reinvention of self. It’s not an incremental improvement. It’s where it’s about deciding and being very clear and having strong intention with who you want to become. One of the reasons that I’m talking about this today is I see this happen so often in the coaching industry, in particular, is that so often we think we have to build our businesses in a certain way.

So often, when clients come to me, they have some type of vision for what they want to build, where they want to take their business. In most cases, I have to tell you, this can be a very limited vision in so many ways. It’s because we’re gauging that vision on what we see in the industry. We’re gauging that vision based on other businesses that we might see.

So one of the things that I’ve learned is that there are so many different ways that you can go about building your business. There are so many ways that you can build your program, you can structure your program, how you work with clients, even how you market your business.

So this is why I believe it’s so important to be able to build your business from true business principles and not just from the latest shiny object, not from the latest tactic. So a lot of what I focus my time on in my client’s businesses is really helping them build that solid foundation that is going to stand the test of time. That will truly allow them to create success over the long term, and not just the latest or greatest algorithm hack.

So in this process where you have so many different ways to go about this, so many different tactics that are out there, I think it’s really important for all of you who really have the intention of building a highly successful business. That rather than looking at the latest and greatest tactics, that you’re really building your business from solid principles.

So that is the approach that I take that as part of my philosophy that has been proven over and over and over again, not just in the coaching industry but in any type of business. In my experience, for most coaches when I observe their business, and I observe them and they’re struggling in their business, it’s because in more cases than not the focus is being put on tactics. The focus is being put on those shiny objects rather than a true business foundation that can actually support the level of growth that they want.

So I’m bringing this to you today because this is a really important distinction for those of you that are wanting to go to that next level, that truly have the desire to do this work and make a huge impact and make a ton of money. When you really get this, when you understand the importance of this.

And just as important of that awareness, when you actually do the work, when you do the work to truly shift into this next iteration of yourself, when you do the work to intentionally create the identity of a million-dollar business owner, when you follow that up and support that with powerful business strategies in your business that are based on proven principles. That, my friends, is when you start to experience massive quantum growth in your business.

When you do the deep work of becoming the leader your business needs you to be, when you become the business owner your business needs you to be, when you intentionally create a transformative best in class experience for your clients. When you truly help them reach their goals, when you intentionally cultivate and build your belief in your future and in that of your clients. That is where success will become inevitable for you.

So I want you all to consider for a moment. I want you to consider your current business. I want you to consider the current results that you have in your business. I want you to consider what I call the program or the belief system that has created the current level of results that you have. I want you to consider for a moment your identity and what that has been. What that has been up until this point to have created the results that you currently have.

For many of you, you already have results that you can be proud of. You have created a business to a level where you’re generating results, where you’re working with clients, where you’re making a huge impact. You also know that there is a next level for you. You also know that what did create the results that you currently have will not be what will create the level of results that you want at your next level.

So for those of you who are in the phase of your business where you are building your business up, where you are working to fill your practice, I want you to also consider for a moment the identity that you’ve been operating from. The identity that has created your current level of results.

After you’ve done that, I want you to consider the identity of someone who has created the results that you want. I would even encourage you to write this down. When you’ve done that, I want you to look at the difference between the two. Because one of the things that is most challenging in this journey, in this process is the requirement for us to continue to evolve ourselves. The requirement to continue to step into a new identity, to continue to let go of what has worked in the past.

So for some of you, that might mean letting go of how you’ve been building your business. For some of you, that might be learning new skills and testing new ways, and trying out new ways to market your business. For some of you, it might be creating a program that allows you to actually scale your time and serve more clients. For most, it also means building your capacity to emotionally regulate yourself as you’re doing this testing, as you’re rolling out new things in your business, as you’re launching new things.

It means being able to purposefully manage your brain, to purposefully manage your thought power on a daily basis. Because the truth is that in this game, when you are going to that next level, you also have to be willing to give up the good in order to be great. You have to be willing to give up that $100,000 to go to a million.

So rather than incrementally improving to go to that million dollar mark, you must be willing to exponentially increase in so many different areas. In areas like your emotional resilience, in your self-belief, in your belief about your offer, in your clients, in your mission. You have to be willing to bet on yourself.

But here’s what’s going to happen along the way. Your brain, your wonderful human brain, for every single one of us is resistant to change. So when you go out and when you work to make these shifts, as you go out and put yourself out into the world and learn new things and try new things in your business that might not “work” right away.

Your brain will tell you it’s all a terrible idea. Your brain will tell you that you’re not capable. That you don’t have what it takes. Whatever version of story that is for you. I want to offer to you that this is okay because this is what happens at every level of growth that you experience in your business.

I was recently coaching one of my high level clients. This client is so amazing. She is doing such important work in the world. Her business, it generated over $1.2 million last year. It was so interesting because we were recently on a coaching call, and she had been looking at some different reports in her business. Based on the reports that she was looking at, she was having some anxiety over some of the numbers. She was feeling stressed about some of the things that she was looking at.

What was so interesting is that her brain, her wonderful brain that has created a $1.2 million plus business in three years. Her brain was telling her that she had messed everything up. That she was incapable. That she had no idea what she was doing. So this was triggering, as you can imagine, an immense amount of anxiety and also stress within her.

After we coached on this for a few minutes, she could see so clearly how her brain, that primitive part of her brain that is so resistant to change, she could see how clearly it was trying to sabotage her. How clear it was that it was trying to keep her safe and in the cave and keep her small and keep her comfortable. For her and for all of us, it’s a means of survival. It’s a protective mechanism that happens when you’re taking your business to the next level.

So being able to recognize this and to see this for what it was and to be able to appreciate it was so, so powerful. I know so many of you experience this on a daily basis. So I want to offer to you that this is part of the process. Feeling that resistance, feeling the part of that primitive brain that wants to keep you small, that wants to keep you safe. It’s doing its job.

But if you’re feeling the urge, and you’re feeling the nudge. If you are feeling the desire to be more, I want to encourage you to follow this urge. I want to encourage you to follow the nudge, to follow the feeling, to follow the desire. Feel the energy of expansion because this is where we can start to create the extraordinary.

If you consider anything extraordinary in life, when you think about anything that is significant in life or in business, the truth is that at one time, it was impossible. At one time, it didn’t exist. So what is it that you know is possible for you, but that you’re not going after? What is it that you know is possible for you, but you’re perhaps indulging in confusion or inaction or self-doubt, or whatever that is for you?

Who do you want to be that you’re holding inside of you? Who is the version of you that has created the million dollar business? What version of you are you desiring to step into, but maybe you’re holding yourself back? This is who I’m inviting you to be. To become through the intentional inner work and the intentional outer work.

This is the work that I do that I go deep with my clients on. That I’m inviting you to be a part of. To become this next version of you, to become the expanded version of you, to create the expanded version of your business. To literally create your million dollar business, the million dollar version of yourself.
